But, many users are facing data loss after reinstalling the operating system. Hence, it is recommended to take a back up of important data before reinstalling the OS. You can follow the methods that are given below to recover data after installing Windows 10 operating system.
Method 1: Recovering data from Windows backup file history
Launch the Settings application and go to the Update & Security section.
Select the Backup option to choose the required options.
Choose either Backup from File History or Looking for an Older Backup option.
You can now view all the files that you have lost on your computer.
Select the required files and choose the option to retrieve them.
Method 2: Data recovery via System Restore Point.
Using a system restore point, you can restore your computer to an earlier point. All the files till that point will be restored.
Open the Control Panel window and go to the Recovery section.
Now, choose the Restore point and click on the Next button.
Make sure that you have enabled or turned on system protection.
Go to Configure System Files and select the Restore option.
Now, choose Configure and select Turn On.
