How to Recover Data from Icloud Backup

When you have to recover the data that was saved on the iCloud account on a Mac device or an iPhone, you should have an iCloud account and enable the iCloud Backup service on the account. Use the steps below to recover the data from iCloud Backup on Apple devices.

How to Recover Data from Icloud Backup

On the Mac device:

  • Open the web browser on Mac and enter the official iCloud website.
  • On the iCloud homepage, fill in the Apple ID and the password to sign in to the iCloud account.
  • Click the Settings icon to open the iCloud settings in the browser window.
  • Next, navigate to the bottom of the window and click the Restore Files link under Advanced.
  • All the deleted files will appear on the iCloud account. Select the files that you have to recover under Restore Files and click Done.
  • Now, the restored files will appear in the respective original storage location.

On iPhone:

  • Before recovering the data, select Software Update under the General menu to update the mobile software.
  • Also, connect the iPhone to the internet.
  • Tap the Settings application on the iPhone to launch the app.
  • Scroll down to the iCloud menu and select it.
  • Choose iCloud Backup and select the Back Up Now option.
  • Wait till the data gets recovered, and after that, check the date below Back Up Now, which shows the last backup date & time.
