If you’re a Windows PC user, then you might have seen a blue screen with an error message saying recovery your pc needs to be repaired. The troubleshooting steps given here will help you to resolve this issue.
Step 1: Using Windows Installation Media
On the error message screen, you will see the following message:
You’ll need to use recovery tools. If you don’t have any installation media, contact your PC administrator or PC/Device manufacturer.
If you have your computer’s installation CD, insert it into your PC and follow the on-screen instructions to resolve this issue.
If you don’t have the installation CD, then create one by visiting the Microsoft Software Download page, and write it on a CD.
Now, insert the CD containing the Windows Installation Media file into your PC.
As soon as you insert the drive or CD, turn off your PC for recovery your pc needs to be repaired.
Step 2: Boot Up Installation Media
Press the Power button of your PC.
When your PC turns ON, press the F12, Esc, F11, or F8 buttons to go to the boot menu. (Based on your PC model, this may vary.)
On the boot menu screen, select your CD device. If your device or drive is not displayed on the boot menu screen, then you need to change your computer BIOS boot priority settings to make it visible.
Now, return to the Auto Setup Utility screen and select Security. Highlight the Security Boot Control option and tap Enter.
On the Security Boot Control dialog box, select the Disabled option using the arrow buttons.
Go to the Boot tab. Highlight the Launch CSM option and tap Enter.
On the Launch CSM dialog box, select the Enabled option.
Now, select Boot Option #1 and tap Enter. Then, select your drive from the list.
Select Save & Exit.
Now, your PC will start to boot.
Press any buttons on your PC’s keyboard when prompted.
Once the Windows Setup window loads, you’ll be asked to select the desired language, time & currency format, and Keyboard or input method.
Step 3: Back Up Important Files
Now, open the Cmd window by pressing the Shift and F10 buttons at the same time.
Connect an external hard drive to your computer.
In the CMD window, type notepad and tap Enter.
In the Notepad, click File > Open. Now, highlight the files that you want to back up and copy them. Paste the copied files into your external drive. Then procee with next steps for recovery your pc needs to be repaired
Step 4: Check PC Hard Drive For Errors
To check your hard drive, you have to type the bcdedit command in the CMD window and tap Enter. Now, note down your OS device and partition letter.
Now, type the chkdsk C: \R command in the CMD window. You can replace the C letter in the command with your drive D or E.
Tap the Enter button.
If your PC hardware contains any bad sectors, then you need to purchase new hardware and install the Windows OS on it.
If the bad sector's value is 0, then restart your Windows computer and check if it starts normally.
