Using “undo Changes”

  • Open a web browser on your Android smartphone or computer.
  • Go to the Gmail account sign-in page.
  • Sign in to your account.
  • After doing that, open the menu list.
  • Locate and click on the Contacts option.
  • Now, the Google Contacts screen will open.
  • Tap or click on the hamburger icon.
  • Locate the More option and click on the down arrow beside it.
  • Choose the Undo changes option under the More section.
  • Now, the Undo changes dialog box will open.
  • If you’re looking to restore contacts that you deleted 10 minutes ago from Gmail, click on the radio button beside the 10 min ago option followed by CONFIRM.
  • Similarly, choose the 1 hr ago, Yesterday, or 1 week ago option and click CONFIRM.
  • Click on the radio button beside the Custom option if you want to restore the contact that was deleted more than a week ago.
  • Type the details of the days, hours, and minutes in the given fields and tap or click on the CONFIRM command.
  • Now, the deleted contacts will be restored.

Using The Gmail/google Contacts App

  • You can also use the Gmail and Google Contacts app installed on your Android smartphone to restore the deleted contacts.
  • Before using this method, ensure that your smartphone’s OS, the Gmail, and the Google Contacts apps are up-to-date. Also, make sure that your smartphone is connected to a stable internet connection.
  • Open the Gmail app. Tap on the Hamburger icon. Scroll through the menu list and tap on the Contacts option. Now, the Google Contacts app will open.
  • Alternatively, locate and tap on the Google Contacts app icon on your smartphone screen to open it.
  • Tap on the Fix & manage option available in the lower-right corner of the app screen.
  • Touch the Bin tab.
  • Here you can find the contacts that have been deleted in the past 30 days. (The deleted contacts stored in Bin will be automatically deleted after 30 days).
  • Tap on the Kebab icon and choose Select or Select all to pick the contact you want to restore.
  • After doing that, tap on the Kebab icon again and choose the Recover option.
  • Now, the selected contact(s) will be recovered.
