  • Now, click the Install button at the bottom of the screen.

  • Type the username and password when the next window appears on the screen.

  • Click the Finish button when the ‘WD Drive Utilities Installation’ is complete window displays on the screen.

  • Then, check if the battery pack is removed from the laptop and loosen the screws to remove the hatches.

For Windows

  • Then, right-click the WDsecuritySetup.zip file. Choose the Extract All option.
  • Next, make sure that you accept the default location and then select Extract.
  • Then, begin the installation by double-clicking the WDsecuritySetup.
  • Read the EULA and make sure that you check the box and Agree and then click the Enable button.
  • Now, click the install button.
  • Click Finish once the installation is complete.

  • Now, launch the manufacturer website and click the link to download WD Security.
  • Click the Download option at the bottom of the page.
  • Next, click the Show Downloads shortcut icon is located on the upper right corner of the window.
  • Then the Downloads folder will open. Give a double-click on the WD_Security_Installer_Mac.dmg file.
  • Now, open the file, read the End User License Agreement, and check the box next to Agree.
  • Now, tap the install button to start the installation.
  • Next, type the administrative password and then tap OK.
  • Tap finish after the installation is complete.

WD drive utilities

For Windows
  • Click the link to download the WD Security for Windows on the manufacturer site.
  • Click the Download option and then click the Save option.
  • Then, on the right corner, click the Open folder tab.
  • Now, give a right-click on WDDriveUtilitiesSetup.zip file.
  • Proceed to select the Extract All option.
  • Check for the current location and then click Extract.
  • To start with the installation, double-click WDDriveUtilitiesSetup.
  • After agreeing to the EULA agreement, click install.
  • Wait until the installation process is complete.
For Mac
  • Go to the manufacturer web page and click the link to download the WD Drive for Mac.
  • Then, click the Download option at the bottom of the page.
  • Now, click the Show downloads icon and then open the Downloads folder.
  • Next, the WD_Utilities_Installer_Mac.dmg file must be double-clicked.
  • Now, double-click the WD Drive Utilities Installer icon.
  • Make sure to click the Open button to accept running the downloaded file.
  • Check the box to agree after reading the EULA.
  • Now, click the install button to start with the installation process.
  • Type the administrative password and then proceed to click OK.
  • End the process by clicking the Finish option.

WD drive utilities complete drive test failed

If the WD drive utilities complete drive test fails,

  • First, cancel the drive test and make sure to start a new drive test.
  • Then, try to uninstall the WD drive,
  • Begin with this process by opening the control panel and proceed to the Programs screen.

  • This error occurs if the drive has corrupted or failed, if the partition available on the drive is damaged or the drive is not obtaining proper power to spin up.
  • Avoid the usage of surge protectors to connect the drive to the power supply.
  • Remove any protectors and connect it directly to resolve this error.
  • If you have made use of a USB hub to connect the drive and the computer, remove it and attach the drive directly to the computer using the USB cable.

  • Com.WDc.branded.driveutility.plist
