- Connect the external drive or optical drive from which you wish to recover the data.
- On your Windows desktop, launch the File Recovery utility by giving a double-click on the File Recovery shortcut icon.
- In the File Recovery window, choose your media type (connected drive) from the available options and click the Continue button.
- Next, select the volume of the connected drive from the displayed list and click Continue.
- Now, choose the recovery scenario from the given options: Deleted File Recovery, Formatted Media Recovery, Search Lost Volumes, Disk Diagnostics, and Disk Tools.
- After selecting the recovery type, click the Continue button.
- Select the media type once again and click the Continue button to begin the scanning process.
- Wait until the scan is complete.
- Depending on the size of the data stored in the drive, the scanning time may vary.
- If you wish to stop the scanning process, click the Pause or Cancel button.
- After completing the scan, you can choose the media from which you wish to recover the data.
- It is available at the left-side panel of the screen.
- Select the files displayed in the thumbnail mode.
- After selecting the files, click the Save icon available in the toolbar.
- Choose the file location on your computer to save the recovered files.
- Now, the deleted file will be recovered and stored in the specified location.
